We get asked this question a lot. There is absolutely nothing unsafe about our games. Many people come to us nervous at first because of the unexpected, and they always have a great time! AdventureRooms is committed to the safety and well-being of our customers & staff.
In almost 10 years in business, AdventureRooms has had thousands of people through our doors and has never had an incident in any of our games. Statistically, our escape games are 100% safe.
All our game rooms are fitted with smoke alarms, smoke detectors and emergency exit lighting which have all been fitted to the highest standard by certified electricians. Our fire control panels in place have been certified and commissioned by industry professionals. All of our fire extinguishers are periodically checked and maintained to the highest standards by an external company.
Once in a games room, players can leave when they want. Doors are NEVER locked and we have quick release systems in place where applicable to facilitate an easy exit at all times.
All games are monitored by our high quality CCTV systems which have been installed by a professional security company.
In 2018 we had a health & safety consultancy firm carry out a comprehensive health & safety risk assessment. AdventureRooms continues to employ the standards of the health & safety statement provided by the company on an ongoing basis to ensure safety for our customers and staff alike.

We cater ​for 11 years of age and up. (Participants under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a guardian​)​.
Please note: Our games are not suitable for Infants or toddlers. We have accepted younger children and we leave this to the discretion of the parents/guardian.

AdventureRooms is fun and unique outing for Families, Friends, Stag & Hen Nights, Birthday Celebrations, Tourists, Date Nights, Pre Dinner Activity, Christmas Celebrations, Corporate Team Building, and more. We also welcome teachers and lecturers with students for an interesting class outing.

Any of our games are suitable! However if you don’t want to start off with the most challenging game we have, we recommend leaving Lost in Time or The Black Queen until you have played at least one other game.

Mafia is a popular, fun gangster themed game. The Black Queen was so popular we have decided to change it up a bit to give it a refresher, and we won’t say more than that! T4K3N (Taken) has a fun and thrilling spy theme. Lost in Time has a time travel theme set throughout different eras of Irish history. Please view “games” for more information.

We do not offer the option to provisionally booking. All games must be booked in advance in order to secure a booking.

All games are private and once booked, they cannot be booked by another group.

Addtional players can be added to a game once the maximum number of players alloted for that game are not exceeded.
Please note: We do not need to be notified in this case. The price difference can be settled upon arrival.

At AdventureRooms Dublin we currently have 4 games: T4K3N, Mafia, Lost in Time, & The Black Queen. T4K3N and Mafia can each accommodate up to 12 players when booked as a 6 v 6 duel, while Lost in Time and The Black Queen can each accommodate up to 14 players when booked as a 7 v 7 duel. In order to accommodate a large group, it is necessary to book more than one game for the same time slot and the group will be divided between each game. Our capacity is up to 50 players maximum, when divided between our 4 games. To book for large groups, multiple time slots need to be booked concurrently. To book all games, click on “add another item” during the booking process. When booking two or more games for the same time slot, please check that all games are available before proceeding. Our games run every two hours 7 days a week from 11am until our last game at 7:45pm.

For groups that are larger than 6-7 people, we offer the duel format in order to accommodate more players. This is where the game is split in half, and split into two 30-minute rounds instead of a classic one-hour game. You split your group up into two smaller teams and the game is split into two rounds of 30 minutes each. In the first round, Team A is trying to break into the room where Team B is playing, while Team B is trying to escape before Team A catches them. After this 1st round we re-set the game and the teams switch sides and play an additional 30 minutes. At the end of the game on team is declared the winner. The winner is determined by whoever escapes the quickest, or if no team escapes, it is whoever has completed the most number of puzzles. *PLEASE NOTE* if you choose a duel game, you must allow 90 minutes for the duration of your visit

Our discounted student rate is available on midweek bookings from Monday to Thursday, at 11am, 12:45pm and 2:30pm with a valid student ID. You must validate your student ID to avail of this discount.

AdventureRooms has a strict ONE WEEK cancellation policy to facilitate other guests. AdventureRooms is a live event game. Once a booking is confirmed, any cancellations, modifications to number of players or rescheduling made within ONE WEEK will incur full cost. In the event that less people attend than the game is booked for, the price difference will not be refunded. In the event of more people attending the game than it is booked for, the price difference can be settled upon arrival. Please note: Due to our busy Christmas season, all bookings modifications/cancellations during the months of November and December inclusive require at least two weeks cancellation notice without exception.

Please note: Any payments made for a game cannot be refunded within one week of a game for any reason. When booking with us, we strongly recommend booking for less people than expected as full payment is incurred for no shows or partial no shows. There are a number of places nearby. The Church Bar & Restaurant, Boco Pub & Pizzeria, The Black Sheep, Oscar’s Cafe Smithfield, Bel Cibo, Bar 1661, The Virgin Mary, Doppio Zero, are a few in the nearby Capel Street/Abbey Street/Smithfield areas.
